"Pickings" actress, producer, and music supervisor Katie Vincent was recently featured in VENT Magazine's Artist Showcase. Vincent talked about "The Way it Goes", the Pickings soundtrack and the film itself.
Here's a snippet:
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else or scoring a film rather than when you are writing in your own?
"I do a lot of my artistic stuff in private. That’s always been me. Some people do best shooting ideas, rapid fire, back and forth. I like to percolate on my own, come up with a very solid sense of self, present it to the powers that be, and maybe adjust. With my own songwriting, reckoning is an audience… with this soundtrack stuff, it’s the edit of the film and the rest of the creative team… Both take inspiration more or less from the same place and the process is similar enough. The only difference might be instead of what I want to write about, I have to consider what the characters might want to do."
